Brief:
“To design a vending cart, that should cater to various products and services offered by street vendors in the current scenarios.”
Problem Identification
After understanding the users and it's surrounding, we identified problems in the current system used by the vendors. This was done by observing and making notes of the nearby marketplaces around each of us.
Ideation
We did a few rounds of ideation, first stage was paper ideation then we move to quick render ideation before choosing the final idea.
Solution
The solution is a modular cart that could be converted into different carts for different usage by adding a few external parts. The cart is designed according to plastic crates that are used by the particular vendor type. The cart is designed according to crates because it provides an organized storage system and more display space, using the existing plastic crates they own.
Modular Frame
The base frame will remain the same by rearranging the rods in the cart could be used for several occupations such as Vegetable and fruit vendors, local good vendors, and street food vendors.

There are three modular forms of the cart: vegetable fruit cart, local goods cart, and street food cart.
Vegetable and
fruit cart
This particular custom is meant to facilitate vegetable and fruit vending. The cart is designed according to the plastic crates. The vendor can use standard crates to store and display the fruits and vegetables. Umbrella is installed to provide shelter to the vendor and reduce the cart's cost. this can be removed and reinstalled easily.
Local goods cart
This custom is for vending local goods of any kind. The grills on the side of the cart are to hang small items and other objects to display.
The horizontal rods under the roof are to hang items on them, these rods are taken from below and rearranged from the base cart.
Street food cart
3rd form is meant for street food vendors of multiple kinds.
The surface platform for cooking. The above stand is created by removing and rearranging the rods from below.

Compatible Nature
Cart is designed to accommodate the existing plastic crates, which are used by the vendors, this provided a better organization of vegetables and fruits without adding any new object to their cart.
Mobility
In the existing cart, assistance is required to change the direction of the cart, so we provided with rotatable caster wheel so that the vendors could change direction without assistance.
For increased maneuverability in outdoor locations, Cart is equipped with an ergonomic handlebar
Easy to clean
Due to the Covid scenario and cleaning protocol, the cart has a hollow structure so that it is easy to clean.
